The Queen’s Birthday

April25

On Friday, KS1 made some excellent birthday cards for the Queen. The children drew a picture for their front cover and wrote a little ‘happy birthday’ note inside! We have posted the cards and are waiting to see whether we are lucky enough to get a response from Her Majesty.

Sport Relief

April17

For Sport Relief, KS1 enjoyed a day of Zumba and running. We all had a fantastic time and everyone got involved (teachers included!). Thanks to all those parents who came to see the ‘Zumbathon’ at the end of the day and a massive thank you for all the money that was donated.

Homework

February25

New homework grids will be sent out tomorrow in the children’s homework books. Year 1 children should complete one of the tasks on the grid each week and they can choose whichever one they want to do. Year 2 children should also complete one task each week and they will also be given a maths homework and SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar) homework.

Don’t forget that children should be learning their spellings every week! Some ideas of how to help them learn are:
Read, cover, write
Snap
Find the hidden word
How many times can you write the word in 30 seconds?

Every Friday, Key Stage One will have a Home Learning celebration assembly. Children will be given certificates for their hard work at home. At the end of this half term, children who have learnt the most spellings will be given a reward.
